Who We Are

The Tasmanian Association of People with Disabilities And Their Advocates Inc., or more fondly known as Aurora Disability Services, is a unique registered charity providing services, care and support to adults with intellectual, physical, sensory and psychiatric disabilities and essential respite for families and carers.

Aurora provides for over 350 clients, their families and carers, with an amazing workforce complemented by approximately 50 volunteers who ensure the ongoing success of our programs.



The Founder and Managing Director of Services is Mrs Joy Cairns OAM, who herself has two severely intellectually disabled adult children and is an industry pioneer, having established many disability organisations in Tasmania.



The organisation is an incorporated body, and governed by a Committee of Management.
